Nothing ‘is’ Immediate at Artspace Portsmouth

with No Comments

After a six month postponement due to Covid-19, the first of three exhibitions from the project Nothing ‘is’ Immediate opened at Artspace Portsmouth.

The two person show, a collaboration between myself and Kate Street explores the relationship between the elements of Fire and Water. Our response is a synergetic installation grounded by sculptural forms of two of the five platonic solids, the Tetrahedron and Icosahedron. The tangible and sacred geometric aspects of these elements were entwined on iconic imagery, colour and reflection, with therapeutic sounds omitting from each sculpture, activated by the movement of the viewer within the space.

A soft Opening on Friday 23 October 2020, was greatly appreciated by attendees from the community of Portsmouth, including artists and arts professionals who had not attended a Galley since Lockdown was introduced back in March 2020.

A sample of audience feedback from the comments book:

Sarah: "Great Show, really thought provoking"

Molly: "Really worth seeing, loved the combination of imagery, sculpture and sound. Thank you"

Karolin: "Wonderful space, I'll be back next weekend to appreciate the sound piece"
