Sound Healing Practice

I am a qualified and insured Sound Therapist professionally trained through the College of Sound Healing. I also explore the effects of sound on our sensory experiences within my visual art practice.

Measurements in musical intervals based on the Pythagorean harmonics relate to sacred geometry, which can be found in architecture and art.

Harmonics can be considered as the “natural” musical system, as they obey fixed mathematical laws, and they manifest specific proportions that can be found everywhere in nature. The human body is also based on this system. In particular, the 2/3 ratio (the musical fifth) is the most recurring and determines the proportions between the size of different parts of our bodies. An example of these proportional intervals are demonstrated in Leonardo da Vinci's Vetruvian Man.

Research shows how the level of nitric oxide and the release of antivirals, antibacterials, and free radicals are directly affected by the resonance with the Perfect Fifth (and other Pythagorean intervals) which, since ancient times, has been considered to have great balance qualities on the nervous system.

What is Sound Healing

Sound healing is the therapeutic application of sound frequencies to the body/mind of a person with the intention of bringing them into a state of harmony and health.

It works on the principle that every organ, bone and cell in the body has its own resonant vibration, as we are made up of energy particles, water etc.

Together they make up a composite frequency like the combination of musical instruments. If a person’s resonant frequency is out of tune, it is possible to use sound to bring the body back into harmony.

The key elements of sound healing, which work on our physical, emotional and spiritual levels are: Entrainment, Intention, Harmonics and Musical Intervals.
